NYC Bakery: Dominique Ansel Workshop

Dominique Ansel Workshop

Dominique Ansel Workshop needs no introduction but I’ll go ahead and do it anyway! Dominique Ansel Workshop is a bakery and culinary workshop located in the Flatiron or NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, NYC. It's an extension of Dominique Ansel's renowned bakery empire, which includes the original Dominique Ansel Bakery in SoHo, as well as other locations worldwide. Dominique Ansel gained widespread fame for inventing the Cronut®️, a croissant-doughnut pastry that became a global sensation. His innovative approach to pastry-making and his dedication to creativity and quality have earned him numerous accolades and a devoted following.

On a recent visit we tried two pastry’s that were absolutely delicious. First and photographed above, the Pistachio Passion Fruit Roll. What an indulgence in the delightful combination of tangy passion fruit curd and velvety vanilla Chantilly cream, perfectly complemented by a luscious pistachio glaze, creating a symphony of flavors and textures in every bite. This harmonious blend of vibrant fruitiness and creamy richness was a truly decadent treat and one I recommend you try.

The second pastry we tried was the Brown Sugar DKA. Savor the rich, caramelized flavor of this signature pastry, featuring a delectable layers of buttery croissant dough infused with dark brown sugar, creating a sweet and indulgent experience with every bite. This irresistible treat combines the flakiness of a croissant with the deep, satisfying sweetness of caramelized brown sugar, making it a beloved favorite among pastry aficionados.

Too busy devouring to take photos! To see the layers of these pastries, start my review at 7:20 marker on the video.
