Dragon Tofu Recipe Instructions

  • Remove tofu block from packaging and drain. Place tofu block between two sheets of paper towels. Place the tofu between two plates and lay a heavy pan over the top plate to allow the tofu to drain of liquid for 2-3 hours.

  • Next, spread a paper towel on a baking sheet.

  • Cut tofu in half and then slice each side into 1/2 inch cubes (see photo). Place the tofu slices on the sheet pan.

  • Once tofu is cut and placed on sheet pan, cover again with paper towel and lightly press to reduce any remaining liquid. This will help your tofu cook to a nice light crisp brown.

  • Place a cast iron skillet or non-stick pan over high heat and add avocado oil.

  • Season tofu with salt and place into pan with sizzling avocado oil. Cook first side until lightly brown (about 2-3 minutes)

  • Flip and season the next side of the tofu with salt. Cook until lightly brown.

  • Remove tofu and place on a paper towel to allow excess oil to drain

  • In a medium mixing bowl combine the soy sauce, honey, chili flakes, sesame oil, garlic, and toasted sesame seeds. Mix all ingredients together.

  • Place tofu on a serving dish and generously cover with the chili sauce

  • serve as is or over rice and enjoy!
