Egg Tuck LA: A Breakfast Revelation in the City of Angels
I love hoping on a good good breakfast trend and before heading to meet up with L.A. Compass agents, I decided to try L.A.’s famous Egg Tuck breakfast sandwich. I went to the Westwood Village location and while the neighborhood is great the ambiance of the restaurant itself was a little too sparsely decorated and the seating austere. Still, social media images of a delicious egg sandwich dancing in my head prompted me to forge forward to the impersonal self-serve kiosk and type my order onto the screen. In addition to a few variations of the egg tuck sandwich—avocado, bacon, cheese, etc— they also serve breakfast burritos and tater tots.
I went with the avo egg tuck sandwich. Served in a half container, your Korean-style egg sandwich will come on a toasted brioche bun (made fresh and in-house) and filled to the brim with their star ingredient. The sandwich had a nice sweet and savory flavor, the crunch of the toast was a nice compliment to the soft eggs. While the dining experience itself isn’t great, the reward of a good breakfast sandwich makes Egg Tuck worthy of a little venture while in L.A.
