MARKET Fishmonger & Eatery is a culinary gem with locations nestled in both charming Edmonds, Washington and Seattle. They’re renowned for fresh seafood and vibrant fun atmosphere. Having landed in Seatlle from NYC late the night before, a lunch date at MARKET with friends and family was the ideal way to begin our time in Washington state. Having spent the morning at Irden Designs in Edmonds, we of course opted to eat at the MARKET Edmonds location. Despite the rainy day with a strong cool breeze—typical Washington state weather—after being served a taste we decided to enjoy the Frosé with our meal. The frosty blend of rosé, citrus, and berries is crisp, and the fruity notes are a perfect match for the salty breeze and the rich flavors of MARKET's seafood offerings.

We had a great sampling of the MARKET menu make it to our table. We had the Hot PNW Crab Roll—local Dungeness crab meat, red rock crab meat, aioli, old bay, brown butter, chives, toasted brioche roll. In addition to the fresh and delicious taste of the crab meat the dressing and seasoning remained in the background letting the natural succulent flavors of the crab meat remain front and center.

We also had the Rock Fish Tacos. The Rock Fish Tacos at MARKET Fishmonger & Eatery are a standout dish that encapsulates the vibrant and fresh flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Each taco starts with two soft corn tortillas, which cradle generous pieces of beer-battered rockfish, fried to golden perfection, offering a crispy texture on the outside while remaining flaky and succulent inside. The fish is complemented by a crunchy layer of napa cabbage and dressed with a sweet and spicy honey chili aioli that adds a rich, creamy kick. The addition of bright mango salsa brings a fruity sweetness that contrasts beautifully with the savory fish, while queso fresco adds a mild, salty tang. Finished with a drizzle of aromatic cilantro sauce, these tacos are a harmonious blend of textures and flavors, making them a must-try for anyone visiting MARKET.


We also had the Green Curry Shrimp & Grits. This dish is an inventive fusion that combines traditional Southern comfort with the exotic flavors of Southeast Asia. This unique plate features succulently sautéed shrimp enveloped in a fragrant green curry made with creamy coconut milk, offering a silky texture and a spicy kick that invigorates the palate. These bold flavors are beautifully balanced on a bed of rich, cheesy grits, which provide a comforting, creamy base that complements the zest of the curry. The dish is then garnished with a trio of fresh herbs—mint, dill, and cilantro—each adding its own distinct layer of freshness, while fried garlic and crispy shallots lend a satisfying crunch and an extra burst of flavor.
