Marrakech Guide: Atlas Mountain

Atlas Mountain Tour

After riding camels our next stop was to an argan oil cooperative to enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast. The setting was stunning and the simple meal was incredibly satisfying. We had a bread basket served with olive oil, argan oil, and Moroccan almond argan honey butter. Of course, the beverage was Moroccan mint tea.

Our drive through the Ourika Valley was beautiful with a few stops along the way to enjoy the scenic outlooks.

We had an incredible guide who took us on a rather steep hike to the Imlil waterfalls. When we reached the waterfall we were delighted to find an orange juice stand with the fruit cleansed and cooled by the fresh water. It was the perfect rejuvenation following our hike.

We continued our winding path through the village mountains with our guide explaining the history, culture and customs of the area. For lunch we stopped at a villa and had chicken and vegetarian tajines. After our late lunch our guide brought us back to the resort. It was a great day trip and experience from which we learned a lot and enjoyed new company, tastes, and sights!
