Miami Guide: Hakkasan
Address | 4401 Collins Ave Miami Beach, FL
Living in NYC has its many perks. One of my favorites is that when you need a little getaway Miami is very accessible. The flight from NYC to Miami clocks in under just three hours and year round you can find great deals. Wherever you are coming from, Miami is a great getaway to enjoy beautiful white sand beaches and have access to some of the best culinary experiences in the world.
I like taking morning flights out of NYC so that I arrive in Miami just in time to check my bags into the hotel and go for lunch. One of my favorite spots to grab a bite at is Hakkasan Miami. Located inside of Fontainebleu Hotel, Hakkasan serves up delicious Cantonese cuisine in a chic and sexy setting. Hakkasan has several locations through out the world and both London restaurants hold a Michelin Star.
Hakkasan offers an impressive wine and cocktail list. When on vacation, I follow Lynette’s lead and start out with a festive cocktail. The Hakka (pictured below), is the perfect “welcome to vacation on the beach” cocktail. It’s made of belvedere vodka, mizbasho junmai ginjo sake, coconut cream, passion fruit and lychee juice.
Hakkasan’s dim sum offers a great selection of delectable dumplings. I always get the chance to partake of the original dim sum platter—with my favorite scallop sui mai—and the vegetarian platter (which we order for Lynette). Everything on the menu is delicious and the presentation is well executed too. True to Chinese dinning style the dishes are made to share which is a culinary experience I tend to gravitate to in order to experience as many dishes as possible and to share in the experience with my dinning companions.
Hakkasan has a beautiful terrace that overlooks the beach. After lunch, it is the perfect spot to step out and soak in some sun, watch the waves roll in, and stroll a few calories off.
