New Orleans Guide: Hotel Peter & Paul

Hotel Peter & Paul

Address | 2317 Burgundy St, New Orleans, LA 70117

Our visit to New Orleans began with selecting the perfect hotel for our stay. After some research, we decided to book the Hotel Peter & Paul. Located in the Marigny—a New Orleans district known for its bohemian vibe, lively bars and jazz clubs along Frenchmen Street, bistros and sidewalk musicians and brass bands— the former Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church and school have been transformed into what is now the Hotel Peter and Paul. The property consists of a former schoolhouse, rectory, church and convent. Each building has been restored and renovated by the Ash NYC Design Team to house guest rooms, event spaces, a restaurant and bar, coffee shop, and ice cream parlor.

I’ll share more about the food and beverage, but this entry will focus on our accommodations.

Upon entering the School House for check-in, you’re met with grand staircases leading up the center and on either side of the entrance. Natural light fills the space and low lighting dims the many corners, nooks, and cranies.

Our stay at the Hotel Peter & Paul was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. In addition to excellent service and unique, beautiful accommodations, the room including a map of the area with staff favorites for shopping, music, and food in the area as well as a book describing New Orleans’ neighborhoods and history that served as an excellent reference.

If you’re heading to New Orleans, I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Peter & Paul.
