Hamptons Guide: Roberta's Pizza

Adress | 240 Firestone Rd, Montauk, NY 11954

When Roberta’s Pizza opened an location in Montauk, I spent a great football Sunday at the bar enjoying a couple of pies and beer. On Father’s Day I had a house showing in Montauk and my wife and son accompanied me because they had made a surprise Father’s Day dinner reservation at Roberta’s for us. This time around I ordered a few more dishes so I wanted to pop over here and give a little bit more of an extended review. To start, the space is really wonderful, really open and bright with the June breeze coming into the main dining room through the open terrace.

To start, we ordered the Little Gem Lettuces—with breadcrumb, dill, mint, and pecorino Romano. The portion was very large so it’s a great dish for sharing and the bright flavors from the dill and mint complimented the sharp pecorino and acid in the dressing. We decided to try out a pasta dish and settled on the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe with pecorino and black pepper. The timing of when the dish came out was a bit off because the sauce had already started to congeal and made the pasta a bit gluey. The flavors were nice and the bucatini was cooked to the right texture. For the pies we went with the classic Margherita and the White and Greens—mozzarella, parmigiana, market greens, lemon. A Margherita is always my go to and favorite pizza, but the white and greens was really tasty and delicious and I would definitely order it again.

For dessert we had my favorite Carvel ice cream cake—in the shape of a football, of course!
