The Frederick Hotel is a historic 4 star boutique hotel located in the Tribeca neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, New York City. Known for its blend of classic elegance and modern comfort, the hotel has been a fixture in the city since its original opening in 1845. Originally known as the Gerard House, the hotel has undergone several transformations over the years, including a significant renovation in 2017 that updated its interiors while preserving its historic charm. The Frederick Hotel's architecture reflects its rich history, featuring a Beaux-Arts facade and stylishly updated interiors that combine vintage details with contemporary design elements.

We decided to cap off our Labor Day holiday with a few days in the city before back to school and booked our stay at the Frederick Hotel. Overall we found the service was very responsive and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the location was excellent for spending time in Soho, Tribeca, and the West Village. Here’s the rundown…

The Frederick Hotel NYC Acoomodations

The rooms at The Frederick Hotel are designed with a mix of classic and modern styles. Our king suite had a brown leather sofa that converted into a bed, a flat-screen TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and plush bedding. The decor features a neutral color palette, with thoughtful touches like vintage-inspired decor and contemporary art pieces, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. The bathroom is large and spacious with a ton of natural light and classic white tile throughout.

The Frederick Hotel Dining and Amenities

The hotel is home to Serafina Tribeca, an Italian restaurant known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious cuisine, serving everything from wood-fired pizzas to homemade pastas. During your stay you’ll receive vouchers for breakfast at Serafina featuring a European/American breakfast buffet. Be sure to ask for your vouchers at check-in, the concierge did not remember to give them at check-in. As we returned from a day of activities in the West Village and SoHo we were exhausted and wanted to relax at the hotel and we wanted a pre-dinner drink and debated where to go. When we entered the hotel we were pleasantly surprised that they do offer a complimentary wine hour with light snacks for guests. We were able to enjoy a nice glass of wine while we relaxed and prepared for dinner in the comfort of our room. Guests can also enjoy the fitness center, and a range of concierge services to enhance their stay.
