Toronto Guide: Dineen Coffee Co.

Dineen Coffee Company

Address | 140 Yonge St, Toronto ON M5C 1X6

One warm and overcast morning in Toronto we made our way through downtown to the corner of Yonge Street and Temperance Street in pursuit of good espresso to kick off our day. Dineen Coffee Co. came highly recommended to us by locals in addition to having several reviews as one of Toronto’s best coffee shops. Located inside of one of Toronto’s oldest buildings—the Dineen Building—the coffee shop itself is large and airy with generous seating both inside and outside of the café. The décor is ornate and while you’re waiting in line you can take in the beautiful tiled floors and large chandelier illuminating the espresso bar. The pastry case is filled with tempting French pastries that are offered in addition to sandwiches and chacuterie boards. Dineen Coffee is a great place to get your caffeine kick and a bite.

We placed our orders for Americanos and a brie and apple baguette. We settled at a table outside which was a prime spot for people watching while enjoying our morning brew. The coffee Dineen serves is from independent roaster Social Coffee & Tea Company. The Americanos were smooth and delicious. The coffee itself was definitely worth the hype. The sandwich was good. I wouldn’t necessarily come here for the food, however if you’re going for great coffee and want a bite to enjoy with it, they do have some nice options of sweet or savory.
