Cocktails: Whiskey Sour
Normally, my wife and I enjoy taking advantage of the many great speakeasies and cocktail bars in NYC and one of my favorite cocktails is whiskey sour. With the shelter in place order, I am making use of what we have on hand and honing in on my cocktail making skills. In addition to bourbon and lemon I had some passion fruit juice in my refrigerator. While whiskey sour doesn’t usually have passion fruit in it, I thought it would nicely compliment the citrus from the lemon and the orange garnish. You can make this recipe with egg white (just add the white from one egg into the shaker with all other ingredients). I opted to keep egg white out just for personal preference. It’s tasty either way.
So, after a day of work from home, maybe a little meditation and exercise, unwind with this Whiskey Sour. Just don’t make the mistake of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and drink 8 whiskey sours in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. One whiskey sour should do you fine for Once Upon a Time in Lockdown NYC.
