Feeding Vulnerable Populations + Supporting Restaurants During Covid-19
During the COVID-19 break I’ve been fortunate enough to hold a professional position where I can safely continue full time employment. I’m really impressed with how many chefs across the world are organizing to support the restaurant industry, frontline health care workers, and people who are facing food insecurity due to the crisis. Lynette and I discussed using our Ego Coquo Ergo Sum | I Cook Therefore I am platform to raise money for World Central Kitchen (WCK). We worked with our designer to create the “Self Certified Shelter in Place Pro Chef T-Shirt” and the “Self-Certified Shelter In Place Pro Baker t-shirt” to encourage our community to shop for a cause. 100% of all profits from the sale of the Shelter in Place Certified Chef and Shelter in Place Certified Baker t-shirt will be donated to WCK. About WCK's COVID-19 Relief Efforts
World Central Kitchen is a team of food first responders, mobilizing with the urgency of now to get meals to those who need them most. We're activating hundreds of restaurants and kitchens to feed marginalized and vulnerable communities and our brave medical professionals on the front lines, in order to make a meaningful impact in the fight to keep everyone fed, and to support the distressed restaurant industry. We know that a nourishing meal in a time of crisis is so much more than a plate of food---it's hope, it's dignity, it's a sign that someone cares about you and that you are not alone.
