Iceland Guide: The Blue Lagoon

Iceland Guide: The Blue Lagoon

Blue Lagoon Iceland | Geothermal Spa

We just returned from a travel adventure in Iceland and we had such a great time that I’m really excited to share my Iceland guide with you. We arrived at Keflavik at 6:15 a.m. We picked up our rental car and the host there suggested we have coffee and breakfast pastries at Kokulist before our 9:00 a.m. appointment at the Blue Lagoon.

The Blue Lagoon has easy parking, so if you’re renting a car it’s easy to keep all your luggage and travel documents secure in the trunk while you head up the path to the Blue Lagoon. When you book your package you have the option of the comfort or premium packages. We booked the premium because it includes robes and slippers—which I found essential for heading from the pools to the steam and sauna—, three face masks, and your first drink at the poolside bar is free. Upon arrival you receive an electronic wrist band that is simply scanned for any purchases while at the spa. After showering, head to the pools for a relaxing soak, skin treatments and a drink. The Blue Lagoon is the perfect welcome to Iceland and relaxing start to your vacation. We also booked a lunch reservation at Lava. I’ll share our dinning experience there in the next post, but I do recommend the experience as you’ll adjust to the local time by staying on the local meal schedule and the food and drink are the perfect cap to close your experience at the Blue Lagoon.
