For our last evening in New Orleans, our friends introduced us to Saffron NOLA. This upscale dining establishment specializes in Indian cuisine with a little bit of New Orleans flare. The dining room sets a romantic mood with low lighting and velvety bronze seating. The service is exceptional. In addition to hosting an extensive wine list, your eye will be drawn to the creative cocktail menu. Featuring fragrant ingredients like tamarind and pomegranate you’ll want to start your meal with a fresh cocktail. On the menu you’ll find items like curried seafood gumbo, oyster bed roast, and Bombay gulf shrimp that give you that local feel with a fresh and new twist.

Nariyal Gulf Fish—korma sauce, mango pickle, crispy ginger, curd rice.

New Kid on the Block—Tequila, rum, lime, tamarind, orgeat, orange.

Baingan Bartha—roasted eggplant, tomatoes, green peas, onion, cilantro churney and Cast Iron Gobi—roasted cauliflower, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, onions, curry leaf, tomatoes

Curried Seafood Gumbo—jumbo lump crab, gulf shrimp, okra, basmati rice.

Raw Silk—tequila, mezcal, pomegranate, lemon, lime, grapefruit, black pepper and pink Himalayan salt.

Bombay Shrimp—herb and spice crusted gulf shrimp, tomato-ginger remoulade.

Spring Green Salad—mixed greens, spiced watermelon, turmeric pickled fennel, paneer-feta, cilantro basil vinaigrette.

Oyster Bed Roast—caramelized onions, garlic, curry leaf, served with naan.
