Cocktails: Classic Margarita Recipe

Cocktails: Classic Margarita Recipe

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Or drinko de Mayo as we used to say in my early days cutting my teeth in the restaurant industry. I know that the margarita cocktail has little to do with this holiday but nevertheless it is a cocktail enjoyed far and wide on Cinco de Mayo. So I thought I’d shake up a classic margarita cocktail and share the recipe with you to celebrate together from our respective shelter in place locations. I like this margarita recipe because it’s a little tart, not too sweet so you can really let the flavor profile of the tequila shine. If you like your margarita a little sweeter you can add 1/2 a teaspoon of agave. Truthfully, the grand marnier is sweet enough to balance this classic margarita recipe. This margarita recipe also holds well in a pitcher when you’re hosting guests.
