Miami Guide: Prime Fish

I am fully committed to shelter in place and stay home orders until it is safe for all of us, old and young, to resume life as usual. Following the science and patiently waiting. Even so, I am missing travel and trying new restaurants. So today I’m going to add to my Miami Travel Guide for a little bit of escapism and to help you prepare for your next adventure once it’s safe. In that spirit, let’s go to Prime Fish in Miami. As the name so aptly gives away, Prime Fish is a seafood restaurant. Prime Fish has a chill vibe and a welcoming, friendly staff. They’re popular for their buffet style brunch with bottomless mimosas, but Lynette and I decided to try their dinner before heading to a Miami Heat game.
The food was good but not exceptional. The ambiance is chic and fun and that’s probably the biggest draw to Prime Fish. We started with a ceviche and Hawaian Big Eye Tuna Poke with shoyu avocado toasted macademia nuts cucumber. The ceviche was cut a bit too thick and there wasn’t much finesse with the pineapple and tomatoes that accompanied it. Good, but for fine dinning, we thought it could be better. The Tuna poke was Lynette’s favorite dish of the meal. For the main, I decided to try Swordfish schnitzel with broccolini farm fried egg and crispy capers. It tasted good. Lynette had the Beer Battered Branzino with a curry sauce. Both dishes were satisfying. For dessert we had a mousse with brittle and chocolate ice cream. All in all, it was a nice meal.
