NYC Guide: Bellini at Harry's Table Waterline Square

NYC Guide: Bellini at Harry's Table Waterline Square

Bellini at Harry’s Table Waterline Square

ADDRESS | 475 W 61st St, New York, NY 10069

Recently, I was invited to attend a pre-opening dinning experience at Cipriani’s new large format dinning experience, Harry’s Table. I was invited to bring my family to dine at Harry’s Table’s flagship restaurant, Bellini. Bellini at Harry’s Table is located within Two Waterline Square on New York’s Upper West Side. While Cipriani’s premier Artisanal Italian Market: Harry’s Table is not yet open to the public, diners at Bellini pass through the various bars, and culinary experiences of Harry’s Table in order to arrive at Bellini.

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting a soft glow over the cityscape, my family and I were immersed in the enchanting world of Bellini, nestled within the refined ambiance of Harry's Table at Waterline Square. With anticipation coursing through my veins, I embarked on a culinary journey that promised to tantalize my taste buds and awaken my senses. Stepping into Bellini, I was immediately captivated by the fusion of modern sophistication and timeless charm that permeated the air. The elegant décor, bathed in soft lighting and adorned with subtle Italian accents, set the stage for an evening of indulgence and refinement.

Seated at our table, we were greeted by a menu brimming with tantalizing offerings, each dish a masterpiece in its own right. From the delicate handmade pastas to the succulent seafood delicacies, every item bore the hallmark of culinary excellence and attention to detail. Accompanying my meal was a curated selection of wines, chosen to perfectly complement the flavors of each course. From crisp whites to robust reds, each pour enhanced the dining experience, elevating it to new heights of sensory delight.

We began the evening with some signature cocktails (and a mocktail for the junior crew member).

I had the Mr. C Cocktail. Absolut Vodka, Mr. C Prosecco, Mandarin Juice and Fresh Lemon Juice Created at Mr. C Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. It was delicious and citrusy!

My wife firmly believes that when dining anywhere with Bellini in the title it is wholly unacceptable to do anything other than order the Bellini as a starter cocktail. The Bellini at Bellini is made of White Peach Purée and Mr. C Prosecco. Created in 1948 by Giuseppe Cipriani, none other than, the founder of Harry’s Bar.

Our little had a virgin bellini and it was really one note not enough citrus or sweetener. Superb mocktails are a must for the perfect all-around dining experience and on this end, it was a solid fail.

Anitpasti

My little ordered the Veal Polpettine with Tomato Sauce & Crostini. The sauce had a nice brightness and the meatballs were nice and tender. It was a dish my son and I both enjoyed. The serving was large so certainly a dish to share. Served with crostini but the sauce was better paired with the focaccia served in the bread basket.

Antipasti di Pesce

Crudo tasting. I ordered the crudo tasting. The fish was tasty and tender but they were a little heavy on the olive oil and I would pull back a bit. Otherwise, a nicely executed starter.

Antipasti bruschetta.

My wife is a lover of truffle and ordered the bruschetta tartufo which is burrata and summer truffle. This was excellent and the flavors came through nicely. The portion was rather large, great for sharing.

Although I ordered a fish main, I went against convention and had a glas of red with dinner. After consulting my brother in law and on call sommelier, I went with the Il Poggione, Rosso Di Montalchino 2019. It was really delicious.

Under the recommendation of the same advisor, my wife selected the Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough and it was equally as lovely.

For his main, my Jack ordered the Spaghetti "alle Vongole”. The pasta was a perfect al dente, a tasty sauce and tender clams. It was delicious.

For my main, I selected the Chilean Sea Bass with Roasted Artichokes & Potatoes. It was very well prepared, and seasoned. Delicious.

Lynette ordered the Dover Sole with artichoke. This was also really well executed. The right sauce to fish ratio and tender fish.

After our meal we were served a plate of warm oatmeal raisin and crispy Italian cookies. My son loved the soft, chewy oatmeal raisin cookies and I really preferred and enjoyed the Italian cookies.

Dolci

While the cookies were rather satisfying, I saw it well within my pre-opening diner duties to sample the dessert menu. I landed on the Vanilla Meringue cake which came in a beautiful pink shade.

Dolci

My wife desired the chocolate cake. She loved the very “Viennese” style of this cake. A dark chocolate, not too sweet, with thick layers of chocolate ganache and cake.

Dolci

My son was satisfied but I insisted he order something to at least have a bit of a taste. He tried the lemon meringue pie. We all enjoyed the meringue and lemon filling but the crust was a bit too thick.

And of course, a bit of espresso before our post-meal evening walk in the city.

All in all, it was a really great evening. We enjoyed savoring a long and unrushed meal in a beautiful new setting. Following dinner, you can take a walk on the spacious plaza and enjoy some great views of NYC. We’re looking forward to returning to Cipriani’s Harry’s Table and trying more of their culinary experiences. New Yorkers, be sure to enjoy a dining experience at Bellini and if you’re from out of town, click the link below to begin planning your trip to NYC. Our dinner at Bellini was not simply a meal; it was an experience—an experience that would linger in my memory long after the last bite had been taken and the final sip had been savored. And for that, I am forever grateful.
