Hamptons Guide: Topping Rose House Jean-Georges

Hamptons Guide: Topping Rose House Jean-Georges

Topping Rose House Jean-Georges

ADDRESS | 1 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, NY 11932

Last Sunday we were treated to a perfectly sunny and warm May day and decided to spend the day with a leisure brunch at Topping Rose House Jean-Georges, followed by an afternoon playing at the beach. I’ve reviewed Jean-Georges at Topping Rose previously in a post about brunches in the Hamptons. Have a look here to see more of the range of menu options at Jean-Georges.

To drink, we ordered a couple of brunch cocktail classics, the Ginger margarita for my wife and the New York Sour for me. They were a nice beginning to our meal.

For starters, we began with the Crispy Salmon Sushi with Chipotle Mayonnaise, and Soy Glaze as a starter. A staple of Jean-Georges menus, I’ve had this starter before and it’s delicious. The crispy rice with fresh raw salmon is a nice contrast of textures and tastes.

Tuna Tartare is one of my wife’s favorite dishes so we order it often. Overall, she says I’ve ruined ordering it out because I make the best, a compliment I’ll take! The tuna tartare at Jean-Georges had Avocado, Spicy Radish, Ginger Marinade.

For my main, I ordered the Broccoli and Kale Salad served with Soft Boiled Egg, Croutons, and Parmesan. This was rather similar to the shaved kale and broccoli salad served at Jean-Georges’ Paris Cafe but it was more refined. The dressing to salad ratio was better and the soft egg on top added a nice creamy texture.

My wife ordered the Warm Shrimp Salad with
Avocado, Truffle Vinaigrette, Champagne Dressing was a really stellar dish. Of course, we shared! The shrimp was perfectly tender and all the flavors came together really nicely.

Dessert: Always save room for dessert! There were several tempting options, we decided to share the Strawberry Coupe Glacé with bits of honey brioche, and lime leaf meringue. Every bite tasted of early summer with sweet berries and cream.

Post brunch we headed to Foster Beach in Sag Harbor for football and to enjoy the calm before the storm of people summering in the Hamptons is upon us in a couple of weeks!
