Hamptons Guide: Calissa Hamptons
Calissa Hamptons
Address | 1020 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill, NY 11976
It’s restaurant week in the Hamptons and the perfect time to enjoy the prix fixe menu at Calissa’s. With a polar vortex hitting our area, our family braved the cold and wind gusts to savor a cozy evening meal at Calissa’s. It was the perfect relief from the cold and the perfect start to enjoying the weekend. Located in Water Mill, Calissa’s serves up Greek Mediterranean fare. The ambiance is beachy chic but the low lighting and plush banquettes warm the space up for winter. You can find Calissa’s full restaurant week menu here. The $44 menu includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. You can order wine and beverage a la carte.
Overall the food was very tasty. My wife and son both started with the Long Island Roasted clams. They tasted really good but the breadcrumb topping was a little too heavy, “like sand” in the words of my son. He modified the clams by adding some of the tomato sauce from my stuffed zucchini the tasty result of which made me really proud. The stuffed zucchini was delicious. The sauce was nicely balanced and the vegetables were cooked to the perfect balance of tender and firm. The three entrees we selected were each really tasty and the fish and meat were cooked to the perfect texture. With three dessert options we each ordered a different one and shared. The baklava and poached pear were delicious. The strawberry tart was tasty too but didn’t stand out. Needless to say, we cleared every plate!
If you get the chance head out this weekend be sure to enjoy restaurant week and support some great restaurants in the off-season.
