NYC Guide: Lodi NYC
Address | 1 ROCKEFELLER PLAZA NEW YORK, NY 10020
A delectable slice of Italy in the bustling heart of NYC’s Rockefeller Plaza, Ignacio Mattos (Cafe Altro Paradiso and Estela) has given New Yorkers a new and exciting place to lunch at Lodi NYC. Reservations recommended, and though the art deco interior is lovely to step into, request the terraza for a perfect outdoor dining experience.
If you have other dining plans, you should still stop in Lodi’s the bakery. Lodi bakery offers an assortment of quality—and really tasty— breads and pastries and espresso, and fresh fruit/veggie drinks. If you’re looking for somewhere to sip a glass of wine or cocktail outdoors while the pleasant weather portion of autumn in NYC holds, you’ll have to give it a couple of weeks until October when Lodi’s liquor license goes into effect. In the meantime you can sip on a bitter orange spritz or latte.
When we lunched at Lodi NYC, we ate light to save room for our dinner plans and stuck with sandwiches—and a box of pastries to enjoy at our leisure. The host staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Remember, if you come to NYC remain civil towards the host staff and show your vaccine card without incident. Stay decent. While we stuck to light bites, the Secondi dishes on offer are something that will be worth returning for, in the meantime, I can tell you that the bread alone is worth coming to Lodi NYC for.
