We started the Christmas-New Year holiday with a stay in NYC in TriBeCa and landed on dinner at TAQ - Taqueria Restaurant & Bar. Located at 81 Warren Street in New York City, TAQ offers a unique dining experience by blending flavors from North America, South America, and Asia into their vibrant tacos. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring a wide variety of options such as chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and creative vegetarian selections. For weekend diners, TAQ also serves a distinctive taco brunch menu that has garnered enthusiastic reviews.

The ambiance at TAQ is excellent. Their warm interior design combines tiled walls and a wood lattice ceiling for a cozy yet contemporary feel, perfect for a casual romantic meal. Comfortable raised high-top seating opposite the bar adds a dynamic element to the space, making it an ideal spot for casual dining or a fun night out. Open daily from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, TAQ has quickly become a go-to destination in Tribeca for flavorful, fusion-inspired tacos. The restaurant’s dedication to quality and innovation has helped it stand out in New York City's competitive dining scene. Whether you're a taco enthusiast or simply in search of a fresh culinary experience, TAQ promises a memorable meal with its unique approach to blending diverse cuisines into a single, delicious bite.

TAQ’s cocktail menu is a perfect complement to its vibrant tacos, with margaritas that deliver a masterclass in balance and flavor. The TAQ Classic Margarita is a timeless choice, expertly crafted with fresh lime juice, premium tequila, and a touch of sweetness that never overpowers. Its clean and refreshing profile allows the tequila’s nuances to shine through, making it an ideal companion to the rich and diverse taco offerings. Whether sipped solo or alongside a meal, this margarita is the epitome of a well-executed classic.

For those seeking a drink with a fiery twist, the Spicy Pineapple Margarita is a must-try. This bold cocktail combines the tropical sweetness of pineapple with a gentle heat that lingers just enough to intrigue the palate. We ordered from the fish and vegetarian menus and enjoyed innovative and delicious tacos. The Pescado taco is a standout, featuring perfectly grilled chile mahi paired with a tangy Greek yogurt crema. The sweet and zesty mango-pineapple salsa complements the fish beautifully, while creamy avocado adds a satisfying richness to every bite. It's a refreshing combination that transports you to a tropical beach with each taste. We both really enjoyed this taco.

For those craving something with a kick, the Camaron taco delivers. Blackened Cajun shrimp is the star, paired with a vibrant corn-black bean salsa that adds sweetness and texture. The cotija cheese lends a savory depth, and the creamy avocado ties it all together, making this taco a spicy, satisfying option. Vegetarians and vegans aren’t left behind with the Tofu taco, where blackened local tofu is elevated with a spicy vegan avocado crema and crunchy veggie slaw, offering a flavorful plant-based delight.

TAQ’s creative streak shines through with the Berenjena and Coliflor tacos. The Berenjena, a panko-dusted eggplant taco, is crisp on the outside and tender within, balanced by a spicy citrus arugula salad and creamy avocado. Meanwhile, the Coliflor taco reinvents classic buffalo flavors with its buffalo-style cauliflower florets, paired with tangy gorgonzola cheese and crunchy veggie sticks. These inventive tacos highlight TAQ's ability to reimagine familiar ingredients into extraordinary culinary experiences, ensuring that every diner finds a taco they’ll fall in love with.
