Seis's Shōgun Cocktail
We have been loving the highly anticipated new series, "Shōgun," and we look forward to Tuesday nights when we settle in with a cocktail and get transported to the romance and drama of the age of feudal Japan. This week I decided to create a cocktail that specifically complements the drama and intrigue unfolding on screen. Inspired by the rich cultural tapestry and flavors of Japan, I invite you to enhance your viewing experience with this signature cocktail: the Shōgun cocktail. This libation promises to transport you to the heart of ancient Japan while you immerse yourself in the captivating world of samurais and shoguns. For the Shōgun Cocktail you’ll need…
Shōgun Cocktail Ingredients
1 ounce of gin (I use Nikka Coffey Gin)
1/2 ounce Cherry Blossom Syrup; Click here for the product I use
1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 ounce Wild Raspberry Hibiscus tea (brewed and cooled); Click here for the product I use
1/2 teaspoon Amarena Toschi cherry juice; click here for the product I use
1 ounce Cherry Seltzer Water; click here for the product I use
1 amarena cherry for garnish
Ice 1 cup in shaker, 1/2 cup in rocks glass for serving
Shōgun Cocktail Instructions
fill shaker with one cup of ice
add gin, cherry blossom syrup, lemon juice, hibiscus tea, and cherry juice into the shaker
give it a shake, shake, shake
using a strainer, pour over ice into a rocks glass
top with cherry seltzer water
garnish with amarena cherry
