NYC Pizza: L’Industrie Pizzeria West Village
L’Industrie Pizzeria West Village
Address | 104 Christopher St, New York, NY 10014
As a pizza enthusiast, every time we’re in the city, I try to squeeze in a New York slice or two and so I was very excited when the opportunity presented itself to hit up L’Industrie Pizzeria in the West Village. You’ll know it by the line formed down the sidewalk with locals and tourists alike eagerly peering in the windows to watch the pies get topped and baked and swirls of soft serve gelato fill over the top of a cup. Once you make it inside, you can read the daily offerings on a large board. L'Industrie offers a delectable array of artisanal pizzas crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It was difficult to narrow in on just a few slices but we settled on a slice of the Tartufo (mozzarella, braised cremini mushrooms, ricotta and truffle oil), the classic, Margherita (tomato sauce, mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano, basil), and their signature pies the Burrata (tomato sauce, mozzarella, burrata) and the L'Industrie (prosciutto di parma and burrata). We took our order to go because there are strict rules 1. No taking a box and eating at the shop 2. no taking a box and eating on the sidewalk. With the crowds, we weren’t sure we’d find a spot to stay and sit so we took our order with a couple of beers and headed to our room for the perfect night cap to a NYC day.
L’Industrie is known for its crispy thin crusts and that was my favorite part of these slices. As usual, my favorite was the Margherita and if it’s always the pie against which I judge all pies. The other slices were good too but heavy so you better have a good appetite on you!
L’Industrie is easily in my top 5 favorite NYC pizza spots.
