From Sag Harbor, Montauk is the perfect getaway for some fun and relaxation and there’s no shortage of restaurants to try so Lynette easily wrangled me into a few days of getaway in our own backyard. Following a few hours of golf at Montauk Downs, I met up with Lynette to enjoy a long and leisurely lunch at Italian market Alimentari Beach Montauk. Alimantari is in the heart of Montauk Village and the bright space with large windows that look out to Montauk’s busy scene, bold red lettering, and smell of pizza wafting in the air are all compelling reasons to stop in. Alimentari serves pizza, espresso drinks, and cocktails, and they also offer a small market for specialty items and some takeaway.

It was a gorgeous warm and sunny day so to drink we started with Alimentari Sprtiz of course, because, The Hamptons. For lunch we decided to share the Caesar salad and a vegetable pizza pie. The salad could have used a little more zest, more acid and salt (hard to compete with The Bell & Anchor’s) but it was fine and importantly the romaine was crisp and tasty. The pizza was surprisingly really delicious. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were the right proportion to the pie and cooked well. The fresh basil was an excellent touch. The pizza will definitely bring me back to Alimantari again when in Montauk.
