NYC GUIDE: Brunch at Jack's Wife Freda

Jack’s Wife Freda

I’ve included Jack’s Wife Freda on our NYC guide before but we stopped in for brunch on our recent stay in the city and it prompted me to give them another shoutout. Jack’s Wife Freda is a place that embodies comfort food not only for their delicious Mediterranean but also for their friendly service and the memories we’ve made together and with friends and family while sharing a meal. Renowned for its thoughtfully curated menu, a fusion of Mediterranean and American cuisines that promises to tantalize your taste buds. The brunch menu is a testament to this culinary creativity, offering a wide array of options to cater to all palates.

The restaurant's rustic decor, adorned with mismatched vintage plates and framed family photographs, exudes a welcoming and homey vibe that instantly. The walls are painted in a soothing shade of light blue, reminiscent of a Mediterranean seaside village, and large windows allow natural light to flood the space. It's the kind of place that feels perfect for a leisurely weekend brunch with friends or a romantic meal with a loved one.

We ordered our classic favorites, the Mediterranean Breakfast—2 eggs, chopped salad, lane, avocado and pita. The star of this dish is the green sauce it is served with. It’s absolutely delicious. We also had the Green Shakshuka—2 eggs in a green tomatillo shakshuka served with challah toast. It was a tasty meal with fresh and clean ingredients to enjoy before hitting the gym. Brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda always feels like coming home.

Whether you're a local looking for a new brunch spot or a visitor searching for a quintessential New York City dining experience, Jack's Wife Freda should be at the top of your list. It's a place where Mediterranean flavors and American comfort food harmonize, creating a brunch experience that's truly unforgettable.
