EATS: Simple Garlic Bread
My sons love Caesar salad, so, the other night I decided to keep dinner simple but exciting for them. I served up my Caesar salad, with pasta, and simple garlic bread. The key to making a great garlic bread is to use a quality loaf of bread from your local bakery or market. I like the texture of a rustic baguette but you could choose ciabatta bread or sourdough if you prefer. If you only have a softer bread at home and want to make this recipe, go ahead. Just be sure to toast your bread in the broiler first to help prevent the garlic butter spread from making the bread soggy. Ideally, use a bread with a hearty crust to hold the spread. Adding some fresh ingredients like parsley and garlic with a kick of heat from the red pepper chili flakes, simple garlic bread is a great side dish to kick up your weeknight meal.
