Our family loves the summer and in our home we have two summer birthdays and recently Father’s Day, so we decided to dedicate a night to summer celebrations and ordered a gorgeous cake from one of our favorite bakeries in the Hamptons, Armin & Judy. Armin & Judy created a beautiful selection of cakes for the summer and after some debate we settled on the French Mango Passionfruit Shortcake. This is a delicious dessert that marries sweet ripe mango with tangy passionfruit and delicate, buttery layers of classic French short cake, creating the perfect indulgent bite!

In addition to amazing cakes, whenever we’re in need a great loaf of bread or French pastries in the Hamptons, Armin & Judy’s boulangerie is definitely at the top of our go-to list. Located behind the restaurant, Armin & Judy’s boulangerie and grocer is a rustic chic shop where you can find pastries, breads, teas and coffee, as well as gourmet groceries like tin fish, and caviar.

The croissants are always buttery and flaky, the breads have nice air pockets and chewy crusts and the selection of sweet and savory pastry on display never disappoints. A few of our favorites include the almond croissant. This pastry is golden, and flaky filled with a rich almond cream, dusted with powdered sugar, and delicately laid crisped almonds adorn the top. Also topping the list, the Kouign-amann. This pastry originates from the Brittany region in France, known for its rich culinary traditions and buttery pastries. A caramelized, buttery pastry with a crisp, sugary crust and tender, flaky layers that melt in your mouth, Armin & Judy’s Kouign-amann is a dream.
