Hamptons Oasis by The Sea: Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa
Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa
Address | 290 Old Montauk Hwy, Montauk, NY 11954
At the Eastern tip of Long Island, New York, Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is a luxurious oceanfront retreat with stunning coastal views, upscale accommodations, and exclusively a Thalassotherapy pool and spa—the only one of its kind on the continental U.S. Deciding that we needed a mini-escape, we booked a room and retreated to Gurney’s Montauk. Falling asleep to the crash of waves outside the window and waking up to breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Gurney’s 2,000-foot long private beach with pristine sands is reason enough to book a stay.
Gurney’s Montauk Arrival…
Standard check-in time is 4:00 p.m. should you arrive early (as we did), the valet will manage your car and luggage and you can head to Gurney’s Fire Pit for a drink and to relax in the sun with a view of the sea. Once your room is ready the concierge will bring your room key to you.
Gurney’s Montauk Rooms…
Gurney’s Montauk boasts 158 rooms, suites, and beachfront cottages. Wherever you are placed, you will have an ocean view and be surrounded by the sound of waves. For our stay, we booked an ocean view King. The room is spacious with minimalist coastal chic décor and neutral tones. The bathroom fixtures are highlighted with luxurious brass hardware and features a walk-in rain shower. Of course, robes, and slippers are provided for the perfect rest and relaxation set up. Our favorite feature was the deck where we could enjoy espresso and a good read as we watched the waves roll in and out with the ocean breeze brushing over.
*All rooms also come with access to the Pool, BathHouse, and The Beach Club . The Bathhouse requires advance reservations
Gurney’s Montauk: The Pool and BathHouse Experience
Gurney’s Montauk takes luxury relaxation to the next level with Thalassotherapy pool and spa. Gurney’s Seawater Spa pumps and heats ocean water for use in the pool, baths, hydrotherapy tubs and therapeutic treatments. Gurney’s is the only Thalassotherapy experience in the continental United States. The indoor pool is situated in a room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and unobstructed views to Gurney’s private beach with floor to ceiling windows with access to an outdoor deck. Swimming in the ocean-fed seawater pool is a lovely experience and the water is soft and smooth over your skin.
The BathHouse at Gurney’s Montauk is an experience reserved for guests 18 years and older. Even guests require a reserved time for entry so be sure to book your BathHouse experience when you book your room. The BathHouse is certainly a highlight experience. It is co-ed and swim attire is required. Guests can move between the sauna and steam rooms, soak in the caldarium tub, and submerge themselves in the frigidarium cold plunge pools—which we fully did! brrrr. We booked BathHouse sessions each day of our stay and it was incredibly relaxing and renewing.
In addition to the Seawater Pool, Gurney's Montauk Seawater Spa offers a variety of spa treatments, including massages, facials, and body scrubs, all designed to promote relaxation and wellness.
Gurney's Montauk Seawater Spa is known for its stunning oceanfront location and luxurious amenities, making it a popular destination for those seeking a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're looking to pamper yourself with a massage or simply relax by the pool, Gurney's Montauk Seawater Spa offers an unforgettable experience.
Gurney’s Montauk Dining
The good news about a stay at Gurney’s Montauk is that you don’t really have to leave the resort for anything, unless you want to! For drinks and light bites you can head to their outdoor experience The Fire Pit which is romantic for two or good fun for a group meet up. The onsite restaurant is Tillie’s by day and Scarpetta Beach by night. Since the weather was so gorgeous we dined at Tillie’s for breakfast opting for outdoor dining with a stunning ocean view. Of course, it’s vacation so we had to have mimosas and decided to share a sweet and a savory. For the sweet we went with the Cinnamon Sugar Brioche French Toast. Served with whipped cream, organic berries, maple syrup, brûlée banana it was very rich and indulgent. For the savory we went with the Tofu Quinoa Scramble which features tofu, heirloom tomato, baby kale, quinoa, avocado, pesto. Both dishes were delicious but the portions were huge so the restaurant manager happily boxed our leftovers.
Also on site in Gurney’s lobby, is Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee. While we waited for the valet to pull up our car we ordered some iced coffees with oat milk for our drive back to Sag Harbor.
Gurney's Montauk Resort and Seawater Spa offers a lavish escape with its unparalleled seaside location and world-class amenities, ensuring an indulgent retreat for discerning travelers seeking both relaxation and sophistication. From its stunning ocean views to its rejuvenating spa treatments, Gurney's provides a quintessential luxury experience that exceeds expectations and leaves guests longing for a return visit.
