Marrakech Guide: Inara Camp

Marrakech Guide: Inara Camp

Inara Camp

After an enjoyable day exploring the red city, we reviewed our options for what the next day should bring. Our 13 year old had a very clear idea that it would be awesome to ride ATVs in the Saharan Desert. My wife enlisted the services of our concierge to help us book the perfect day in the desert.

Our driver met us at the resort in the morning and drove us out about 40 minutes from Marrakech to Inara Camp in the Agafay Desert. We were immediately struck by the peacefulness of the Saharan desert and Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival we were escorted to our private area for the day which consisted of a tent for meals and an area for tea at the tip of a cliff. After enjoying the views and mint tea we prepared for our ATV ride.

It was a wonderful 4 hours of stunning views with a stop midway to enjoy Berber cookies and more mint tea. When we returned to the camp, we were seated for our meal. The meal started with fresh pressed green juice and, of course, more tea. We then had a variety of dips and salads. We had informed them earlier that my wife is pescatarian so in addition to a beef and vegetarian tajine, they made us the most delicious fish tajine that was our family’s favorite. We could not stay for dessert because we had a cooking class in Marrakech that we had to get back for. Inara Camp offers a variety of activities and luxury camping in the desert, I highly recommend that when visiting Marrakech you make time for a venture to the desert.
