New Orleans Guide: The Ruby Slipper Cafe
The Ruby Slipper Cafe
Address | 200 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130
The Ruby Slipper Cafe in New Orleans has several locations and we’ve been to the Central Business District (address above) and French Quarter locations. The spaces are classic diner vibes with bright red accents and a brunch menu for every appetite whether sweet or savory. We tend towards the savory so I haven’t tried their pancakes and French toast but they have a variety of delicious looking sweet options including seasonal stuffed French toast.
If you’re on vacation or at a weekend brunch, be sure to try their mimosa flights or spicy Bloody Mary. Their coffee is tasty and their savory plates are hearty and satisfying—you may want to order one main and share! We had vegetarian breakfast tacos with eggs, chipotle sauce, and avocado and a side of crisp breakfast potatoes. It seems everyone orders their biscuits so we gave it a try and didn’t love them but they were fine. The lines form quickly so get an early start or go prepared for a little bit of a wait.
All in all this is a great brunch spot especially following a late night out.
