It’s no secret that when visiting New Orleans you must try the beignets. Since this indulgent dessert isn’t the healthiest of dishes, we spent some time deep diving reviews to find the best beignet in New Orleans and went with Cafe Beignet. Cafe Beignet has several locations throughout New Orleans. We decided to explore the city by foot—a wild proposition for a hot night in July—and walked to the Bourbon Street location. You turn into a courtyard and where a live jazz band is playing familiar tune after tune. Fans with water spritzing cool down the space just enough to enjoy the sticky dessert. We ordered two iced coffees with soy milk an an order of three beignets.
These were tasty. As you can see from the photo, they were fresh with a nice and pillowy inside and slightly crisp outside. Generously topped with a mountain of powdered sugar this New Orleans treat is worth it.
