NYC Brunch: Buvette
Buvette
Address | At the corner of Bleecker, 42 Grove St, New York, NY 10014
One of our favorite ways to spend a morning in New York City’s West Village is to walk the cobblestone streets to the corner of Bleecker and Grove and snag a table for brunch at Buvette. Buvette is a popular French-inspired café and restaurant with locations in NYC, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, and Mexico City. This location is situated in the heart of the West Village, and offers a chic, intimate atmosphere reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. The inviting interior is decorated with vintage posters and chandeliers, wooden bistro tables, and a bustling yet cozy vibe. The large bar with busy mixologists and the sound of corks popping sets the scene for your meal.
Buvette's menu features a range of French classics with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu is designed to offer a variety of small plates, allowing for a tapas-style dining experience. Known for its delightful breakfast and brunch options such as croissants, pastries, scrambled eggs, and croque madame brunch is the meal that keeps us returning.
On a recent excursion we ordered americanos, the saumon fumé—steamed eggs, smoked salmon and crème fraîche and a couple of plump, salty, caper berries—and avocado toast with egg molette and spiced yogurt. Other favorites include their Bloody Mary and Mimosa, Belgian Waffles and Berries. Whatever you’re craving—sweet or savory—you’ll find satisfying options at Buvette.
Buvette is a popular NYC spot for locals and tourists, so keep in mind they do not take reservations but seat on a first come, first serve basis. If you find yourself waiting, the West Village is a great neighborhood to grab a coffee and walk until a table is available.
Overall, Buvette is cherished for its ability to transport diners to a quaint Parisian café in the heart of New York City, offering an exceptional dining experience with its delicious food and inviting atmosphere.
