NYC Guide: Paris Cafe TWA

Paris Cafe TWA by Jean-Georges

ADDRESS | Terminal 5, 6 Central Terminal Area, Jamaica, NY 11430

While we were still in the difficult period of the pandemic—after lockdown but before we were comfortable and vaccinated for taking flights—my family and I had some great road trips and staycations. One of our favorite spots was a weekend at the TWA Hotel. Since then we have stayed there more times than expected given the convenience for early morning flights and enjoyed it each time. It saved us this past summer when several family members flew in for my wife’s birthday. Flights had been arranged to arrive at the same time in order to caravan to the Hamptons together when a flight delay created a five hour gap between arrivals. The TWA short term stay—you can book a room for half days, perfect for a nap or shower—and Paris Cafe were lifesavers then.

This past weekend we were sending a couple of loved ones off from JFK airport and needed a nice spot to wait out some time between the different departures. We headed to the Paris Cafe TWA and had a great time enjoying some small bites and effervescent cocktails in our down time. Here’s the run down of what we ate…

Raspberry Bellini and French Fries with herbs

The raspberry Bellini at Paris Cafe is really nice because it’s made with fresh raspberry.

Shaved Broccoli & Kale Salad

grainy mustard dressing, parmesan, hard boiled egg

The flavors on this salad were nice, the dressing tasted great but there was too much! Maybe ask for your dressing on the side.

Tomato & Mozzarella Pizza

basil and chili flakes

The crust on this stone oven cooked pizza was nice, with a soft center. The flavors were good but I would pull back a bit on the cheese.
