Paris: Best Croissant La Maison d'Isabelle
La Maison d’Isabelle
Address | 47ter Bd Saint-Germain, 75005 Paris, France
During our most recent visit to Paris, we arrived early in the morning with a several hours to spend walking and enjoying pastry before catching the train to London. It was a very happy accident that we found ourselves in front of the charming bakery with an impressive line, La Maison d’Isabelle. La Maison d’Isabelle has been celebrated with several prestigious awards for its delectable pastries and artisanal breads. Recognized for its commitment to quality ingredients and meticulous craftsmanship, the bakery has been honored with accolades including the Parisian Bakery Excellence Award and the Best Croissant in Paris title. With a dedication to preserving French baking traditions while embracing innovation, La Maison d’Isabelle delights patrons with its irresistible creations and continues to shine as a beacon of culinary excellence in the city.
Of course, when you’re standing where arguably the best croissant in Paris is made, you must indulge in a croissant and so we did. The croissant at La Maison d’Isabelle had delicate layers of buttery richness and flaky perfection that melts in your mouth. The exterior is perfectly golden and flaky, while the interior remains irresistibly soft and pillowy.
We were also tempted into ordernig a baguette. It had a wonderful chewy crust that breaks and yields to a soft, airy interior. La Maison d’Isabelle's baguette had the perfect balance of chewiness and lightness and between the three of us, we had devoured it before arriving at our next destination, Jovi, for espressos and more baguette! That is a story for tomorrow…
Enjoying the freshly baked baguette and croissant amidst the bustling Parisian market created the perfect cozy morning. If you’re looking for quintessentially Parisian breads we definitely recommend La Maison d’Isabelle.
