Seattle Guide: Cafe Flora

Cafe Flora

Address | 2901 E Madison St, Seattle, WA 98112

We love a well executed vegetarian menu and Cafe Flora in Seattle delivers. Cafe Flora uses organic, local and sustainable produce and you can taste the clean and fresh sourcing in every bite. Cafe Flora also offers gluten free and vegan menus making this a friendly locale for a variety of dietary restrictions. Located in Madison Valley, Cafe Flora is situated in a large airy space flooding with natural light and adorned with plants.

On a recent visit to Seattle we headed to Cafe Flora for breakfast and the dishes were delicious. The Rancho Colorado Scramble—seasoned tofu (you can order with eggs but we chose tofu) with slow cooked pinto beans, tomatillos, fresh chilis & sweet corn, topped with cotija cheese & corn tortilla strips, served with roasted potatoes (you can select potatoes or cheesy grits). This dish was packed with flavor and texture. The tofu was perfectly seasoned and combined nicely with the toppings. The Breakfast Platter ( select eggs or seasoned tofu & garlicky greens, served with cheesy grits (roasted potatoes optional) was also a very hearty and satisfying breakfast dish. The cheesy grits had a nice smoky taste from the gouda cheese.

Beverages: Cafe Flora has a wonderful selection of teas, espresso drinks, juices, and cocktails. The Rosemary Lemon Drop (rosemary-lemon infused vodka, rosemary lemonade, orange liqueur) and the Electric Lady (reposado tequila, kumquat-pink peppercorn shrub, dry lavender botanical soda, lavender bitters) make for nice brunch cocktails.

If you find yourself at SeaTac on a layover or early for a flight, you can enjoy a meal at—or take it to go—Floret which serves a similar menu.
