Seattle Guide: Eats

Seattle Guide: Eats

  • Le Panier for French breakfast pastries. The buttery, flaky, apricot croissant with coffee was the perfect morning wake up call. Honestly, you can order anything here and you’ll be satisfied. My favorites and so my recommendation is that you try any of the breads and croissants.

  • Market Grill immediately after landing and securing our rental car, we headed to Pike Place Market and decided to order Market Grill’s famous blackened salmon sandwich and seafood stew. If you like spice, ask for some hot sauce (they have a few options, I went with Sriracha) on the side.

  • Von's 1000 Spirits Our original plan for happy hour with my sister in law was the rooftop bar, the Nest. Navigating a post COVID world in any city you’ll come across some odd days that your once favorite watering holes are now closed, but we quickly made do and went to Von’s outdoor patio bar. The setting was relaxed, the service friendly, and the drinks tasty at happy hour prices.

  • The London Plane for clean seasonal dishes in an idyllic setting, The London Plane is a beautiful spot to enjoy a long lunch. In addition to serving food and beverages, they sell flowers which brightens the atmosphere and makes for a romantic lunch date.

  • Mojitos this Seattle spot serves up classic Latin American cuisine in a low key setting. For decades, it’s been a mainstay dining favorite of close friends and family. I was happy to stop by and see that they were doing well and were able to maintain in the midst of the hardships of the pandemic. If you’re looking for friendly service, great mojitos, and classic Latin American cuisine, be sure to stop in.
