Vail Guide: The Little Diner

Vail Guide: The Little Diner

The Little Diner

Address | 616 W Lionshead Cir, Vail, CO 81657

Nothing creates an appetite like the morning after a full day of hitting the Rocky Mountain slopes. A classic diner is the best way to satiate that hunger and one of my son’s favorite types of breakfast spots, so we hit up Vail’s popular locale, The Little Diner, for breakfast. This place was packed with happy skiers debating between ordering the impressive Dutch baby hotcakes or something more savory. There’s something at Vail’s The Little Diner for every appetite. We were seated at the counter which I really liked because it had a direct view into the heart of the place, the kitchen. I was really impressed with the station set up and their efficient turn and burn. Hotcakes were flipping and bacon sizzling non-stop as orders were pushed out to hungry diners.

We started with Bloody Maria’s (that’s a Bloody Mary with tequila instead of vodka) and juice. I ordered the hearty breakfast burrito with hash browns tucked inside. It was really satisfying especially for post or pre-ski appetite. Jack had the Ranch Hand (not pictured) but also really satisfying with eggs, toast, sausage patties, hash browns and pancakes. Lynette went with one of her brunch favorites the Huevos Rancheros. The ranchero sauce was nice and tangy with a slow burning heat to it. The portions here are large so come to share or with a healthy appetite.

The servers were slammed but remained upbeat and friendly making The Little Diner Vail a great breakfast spot for a ski holiday.
