We began my birthday festivities with a visit to the iconic Majorelle Garden of Yves Saint Laurent Mansion. This stunning garden is enclosed by outer walls with lines of people waiting for their chance to take a stroll through the enchanting Art Deco and Moorish influenced designs of the garden. Admission is just under $4 USD and if you want to avoid a wait you should purchase your tickets at least 24 hours in advance.
This stunning botanical garden was created by artist Jacques Majorelle over the course of forty years against the backdrop of the Cubist villa designed by the French architect, Paul Sinoir. In 1980, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, purchased the Jardin Majorelle and lived in the Villa.
The stark colors, succulents, desert flowers, and winding paths make the Jardin Majorelle an absolutely enchanting experience.
A stroll through the Jardin Majorelle is certainly not to be missed on your visit to Marrakech. Come early to avoid the crowds and enjoy the natural peacefulness of this space.
