New Orleans Guide: Sundae Best

New Orleans Guide: Sundae Best

Sundae Best

Address | 2317 Burgundy St. New Orleans, LA 70117

Another delightful onsite spot at the Hotel Peter and Paul, Sundae Best serves handcrafted ice cream with locally sourced ingredients. We decided to grab a couple of scoops to cool off after a returning to the Hotel Peter and Paul after day of wandering the Garden District. Sundae Best creates both dairy and dairy free frozen treats. We ordered the dairy free toasted coconut and butterscotch pecan (dairy). The toasted coconut ice cream was really delicious. Smooth and creamy with nice fresh flavors. Unfortunately, the butterscotch pecan had crystalized, and the balance of flavor and texture was off (we didn’t finish that one). It may have been an off day for the butterscotch pecan but the toasted coconut was a resounding win so Sundae Best is a great shop to stop in and try a scoop or two on a hot day.

We decided to enjoy our cones on the porch, but be warned! As soon as the New Orleans wall of heat hit us the ice cream started melting almost faster than we could keep up. There are two lovely parlors indoors where you alternatively can enjoy your ice cream.
