T. BRASSERIE by Jean-Georges

Address | 96 South St, New York, NY 10038 inside The Tin Building by Jean-Georges

The Tin Building located on South Street Seaport in Manhattan’s Financial District is the realization of enowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten vision for a vibrant marketplace bustling with artisanal eateries, fresh produce vendors, and culinary artisans, creating a dynamic hub for food lovers to explore and savor. With a lot of excellent options before us, we settled on the T. Brasserie by Jean-Georges for brunch. T. Brasserie is a contemporary brasserie inspired by Chef Jean-Georges' upbringing in Alsace, serving classic French cuisine crafted from the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients. The decor is opulent yet inviting, with plush deep green furnishings and soft lighting create an atmosphere of refined luxury. Guests can choose to dine in-doors or out on the patio. While it was a sunny day, it was still a bit to cold so we opted to dine indoors. The doors leading to the patio were open letting in a wonderful fresh breeze and the smell of wood smoke from Frenchman’s Dough.

We started brunch toasting with seasonal cocktails. We enjoyed the refreshing zest of Spring Aperol Spritz. This cocktail was a blend of the bitter sweetness of Aperol Aperitivo with the delicate essence of strawberry-infused Grey Goose Vodka, all topped with the effervescent sparkle of Veuve Ambal Crémant de Bourg.
We also savored the harmonious fusion of Veuve Ambal Crémant de Bourgogne with the luscious flavors of lychee, raspberry, and elderflower, kissed with a hint of lime in the tantalizing Raspberry Lychee Bellini. While we waited for our mains, I ordered the House Made Pain Au Levain accompanied by velvety salted butter, a timelessly delicious start to any meal.

For the mains, we stuck to our tradition of sharing a sweet and a savory dish! For the savory we had the goat cheese spinach omelet with pommes frites. The delectable harmony of creamy goat cheese nestled within a classic soft and fluffy spinach omelet, paired perfectly with the aromatic crunch of rosemary-infused Pommes Frites. For the sweet we had the Brioche French toast with strawberries and chantilly cream. The brioche was perfectly fluffy with a beautiful outer crust that paired perfectly with the chantilly cream and strawberries.

With its warm ambiance and chic Parisian-inspired design, T. Brasserie offers a sophisticated retreat for diners seeking an unforgettable culinary experience and it’s a NYC restaurant that we recommend.
