WatchHouse Coffee, hails from London, where it has become a beacon for coffee enthusiasts seeking both exceptional quality coffee and a vibrant ambiance. Nestled in iconic locations across the city of London, each WatchHouse venue exudes a unique charm, blending contemporary design with nods to its historical surroundings. Recently NYC has been graced with the first WatchHouse in the United States. WatchHouse's 5th Ave. cafe in NYC stands as a testament to the brand's global expansion, bringing its renowned coffee culture to the bustling streets of Manhattan. With its sleek modern design and a menu curated to cater to the discerning tastes of New Yorkers, WatchHouse 5th Ave serves as a vibrant oasis amidst the city's frenetic pace, where locals and visitors alike can indulge in expertly brewed coffee and a moment of respite. As readers know, Lynette and I love trying the various cafes and coffee houses around NYC and after having tried WatchHouse, we both agree, it’s the best coffee in NYC…

We wanted to taste the coffee without any milks or sweeteners so that we could assess the quality, so we each had the long black. We found that the WatchHouse long black is a meticulously crafted beverage, featuring a double shot of espresso poured over hot water. This had an incredibly bold yet smooth flavor profile without bitterness. Its rich crema and balanced intensity, made it exceptional. The long black makes a great go-to choice for coffee aficionados seeking a satisfying and nuanced drinking experience.

To accompany our coffee we ordered a couple of pastries. We had the famous WatchHouse staple, the Swedish cardamom bun. This delectable treat combines the warmth of freshly ground cardamom with the indulgence of a soft, buttery pastry, creating a delightful balance of spice and sweetness. We also had the WatchHouse blood orange hibiscus danish. This was my favorite. The tantalizing fusion of citrusy brightness and floral notes, and a cream filling enveloped in layers of flaky pastry. Its vibrant colors and refreshing taste, made this a delightful twist on a classic pastry. Finally, we tried the The WatchHouse pain au chocolat. This pastry features decadent chocolate rings delicately sprinkled with flake sea salt, elevating each bite into a harmonious blend of rich cocoa and savory nuances.

We stay in NYC about twice a month and we keep going back to WatchHouse for our coffee fix. As the weather has warmed up our go to orders are cold brew with oat milk and they’re amazing.

Nestled in the heart of Manhattan, WatchHouse 5th Ave embodies the essence of urban sophistication, inviting patrons to savor moments of culinary delight and coffee culture in an iconic setting that epitomizes the vibrancy of New York City and a NYC cafe that we recommend.
