Museum of Ice Cream NYC

Museum of Ice Cream

Address | 558 Broadway, New York, NY 10012

The Museum of Ice Cream in NYC has attracted locals and tourists to spend an hour or two in this immersive, interactive experience designed around the theme of ice cream. Located in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood, it features a series of colorful, playful rooms that invite visitors to explore various installations, all centered around the joy and nostalgia of ice cream so we decided would make a fun family activity in NYC. You’ll need to pre-book your reservations online and ticket prices rise the closer you book to your entry time so be sure to book in advance. Highlights of the Museum of Ice Cream include:

Sprinkle Pool: A large pool filled with thousands of plastic sprinkles where guests can "swim" and take photos. Only our 10 year old junior crew member jumped in and she had a great time. To be honest, the sprinkles looked a bit hard and people didn’t really sink into it like a ball pit. Good or bad? You decide…

Ice Cream Tastings: Along the way, visitors are treated to different flavors of ice cream and other sweet treats. Okay, this is fun and the ice cream is hit and miss so you just have to experiment to find what you like. Servings are unlimited so toss what you don’t like. The most interesting treat we tried was the bagel ice cream. A pink Ess a bagel—which IYKYK is a great NYC bagel—with cream cheese gelato and everything seasoning. Not gonna lie, this was terrible but thumbs up for trying!

Interactive Games: There are several fun, ice cream-themed games and activities that allow visitors to engage with the exhibits. My son challenged me to a word search and sadly beat me by two words! The best was the game room with whack-a-ice cream and and a few other games to compete at.

Colorful Installations: Each room has its own theme, with Instagram-worthy décor, from pink and yellow bananas hanging from the ceiling to a bright pink swing themed subway car it’s entertaining to make your way from room to room.

The museum is designed to be fun for both kids and adults, with a focus on creativity, playfulness, and indulgence in ice cream-related fun. It’s also very popular for social media photos, thanks to its vibrant, whimsical design.
